During our trip to Cape Town, we visited this wine farm for dinner with our family.
It was founded by Simon van der Stel in 1685, where he lived and produced fine wines for 27 years. The history on this piece of land is impeccable, with restaurants and very interesting museums that I have personally visited.
This wine farm is one of South Africa’s most visited tourist attractions. When you visit this wine farm you will understand why.
If you are a lover of wine and fine dining DO NOT give this wine farm a miss!
My family and I recently went on our annual holiday to Cape Town.
We decided to take an afternoon drive to The Spice Route, which is very close to Paarl (it is on the other side of the mountain to be exact). The Spice Route has different buildings and in each building they sell different things. There is a little coffee shop that sells handmade ice-cream, and locally roasted coffee beans. They are also the home of the CBC beer brewery. There is plenty more to visit, such as lovely restaurant and a chocolate shop with a huge variety of different chocolates from all over the continent.
As you can see we were surrounded by fields and wine farms. This is definitely a tourist attraction and somewhere that you should definitely visit.
